Thank you for your Prayers for Tim and his Family!

I have a lot more to tell you about Tim and his family. For now here is a photo of him and words from his obituary pamphlet.

TALLADEGA, AL - Timothy Luke Cunningham (24) was killed in a tragic car/pedestrian accident in Talladega, Alabama, April 25, 2009. Born in Yakima, WA February 8, 1985, to Mike and Jeanne Cunningham, Tim was the seventh of nine siblings. He spent his early years in Sunnyside and Yakima, WA attending St Paul's, Robertson, Franklin, and Eisenhower. He graduated from Olympia High School in 2003 and earned his BA in Psychology from Western Washington University. He worked for Spider Safe Works and he and his family moved in January to Duluth, Georgia. Tim's life was defined by his GREAT love of family, friends and fun.

Tim was gregarious, fun-loving and full of life. His quick smile and sense of humor won him many friends; and his generosity and loyalty kept them close. Tim will be greatly missed by all who came to love him including his Rugby brothers at WWU, his large extended family.

He is survived by the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Jennifer Gafford- Cunningham and their daughter Adeline Owen Cunningham (6 months); his parents Mike and Jeanne Cunningham of Olympia; two brothers: Isaac (Eva) of Yakima; Joel of Olympia; five sisters: Leona (Nathan) Bushman of Yakima; Angela (Chris) Van Gordon of Spokane; Cheri (Pete) Salas of Sunnyside; Theresa (Sal) Diaz of Salem, OR; and Rebecca Cunningham of Olympia. He is also survived by his grandmother, Loretta Cunningham, his god-sons: Benjamin Esquivel and Chita Diaz, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him and will miss his wild and adventurous ways dearly.

Tim is preceded in death by his brother Benjamin, his Grandpa Cunningham, and Grandpa and Grandma Robinson.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 812 Bowker St. S.E. in Lacey, WA. A fund for Tim's daughter, Adeline Cunningham, has been established at Chase/WAMU bank.

Please leave condolences for the family at www.funeralalternatives.org. Arrangements by Funeral Alternatives of Washington (360-753-1065).

  1. Sheila, what a beautiful tribute to what sounds like a wonderful young man. He was taken way too young. My heart breaks for you and your family. We both know that he is still with you, always watching over his precious baby. I love you, my friend.
