So Much to be Thankful For!

We have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

I will miss cooking (but not too much)!  We are going to our Grandson's house.  I just say "his house" as kind of a "short cut"... the long version is harder to explain, but here goes...  our son Bill and daughter-in-law Tannia had our Grandson Brock together around 7 years ago.  They are great parents, but things didn't work out in their relationship so a few years later, our daughter-in-law married a nice guy named Alec.  Alec already had two children of his own (Alyssa and Alec Jr.), then he and Tannia had two little girls together (Molina and Rosie).  Our son Bill lives not too far away and is a very good Daddy. Everyone gets along wonderfully (thank you, Lord) and we all get together frequently.  Alec and Tannia have a cute house on the same property as her parents (grandparents right on the same premises... perfect, huh)?  Are ya still with me?  They are about 3 hours away and that's where we are going for Thanksgiving!

Sooooooooo, very long story short, I'm making the oreo cookie favors with the 5 kids!  What fun, I can hardly wait!  They are all so cute!  Anyhoo... I'm deciding which ones to make.  The turkey above comes from here (Cookies and Cups blog, and she gives a detailed tutorial)!  It is darling, but I think I like the free standing ones better, especially for smaller kids.  Isn't it cute though?  It's head makes me giggle.  Do you know what it is??

Oh My Goodness!  Have you ever???  I could have gone my entire life not knowing about these (and am sure I will wish I had)!  What a concept.

These  from Thrifty Fun are cute too:

These pilgrim hats are cute too, but I can envision a whole lot of chaos (and plenty of sticky hair) at the mere mention of such a thing! (And that's just with ME doing it alone)...

These with the wings and purplish feet are darling:

But I think I'll go with these... they come from "Grandma Ideas dot com"... perfect, no?
Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. I'm so sorry about that! I've changed it. Lesson to me: don't blog when tired! Thanks for the great post and tutorial!
