Isn't This the Most Beautiful Art Altar?

When I first saw it, it took my breath away. So gorgeous, isn't it? If you've noticed my "Collage Camp" button, or read my recent posts about her, you'll know that the artist is KC Willis of Lipstick Ranch. Her work really speaks to my heart. I am fortunate to be among the number of artistic women in "Collage Camp." It hasn't officially started yet, she is still accepting pre-registrations (Um, also meaning you can still get a zoom deal on the cost)!

I'm running a bit behind some of the other show offs (I mean campers)! but it's okay, because this is an "on-line" workshop, and I can watch and re-watch the installments anytime I want. I have most of my "gear" lined out, and tomorrow I'm so excited because I'm going to get started and one of the first steps involves coffee. That's all I'm saying. I know, I can hear you now, "so what's new with that, she's crazy about coffee!" And I'll say back to you... "yeah but you've never seen me do THIS with coffee!" Well, you just might if you stop by tomorrow. The rest is top secret!

That reminds me, I really miss those lattes from work. Fat free/sugar free carmel. Mediums most days, Medium with an extra shot of espresso on Thursdays and it was Large with 2 extra shots on Fridays. I didn't have to tell the coffee lady Cari, she knew me "by heart"... love her. On my last day she did have someone fill in for her, and I did have to say what my Friday drink was... the girl said, "Oh, so 5 shots of espresso total?" I said "Heavens no, just 2 extra!" She looks up and tells me "um yeah, that would be 5 shots!" Good grief what have I been doing?? All these years I'd been making fun of an attorney who would ask for 5 shots! I used to look at him funny and check to see if his hands shook! Nope, but I was expecting him to keel on short notice! That's the pot calling the kettle... well you know!

Oh, and of course I'll miss the paycheck, but other than that, I'm good! My coffee here is just fine, thank you! Again, I digress! (I think that should have been the name of my blog, don't you)?

I've made so many "on-line" friends here at camp, and some of them are well known artists. So, it isn't just "girls like me" taking the workshop! KC lives in Longmont, Colorado near where I'm from, but I've met "campers" living near me and even from across the world. Fun fun!

I'm so grateful to have something creative to do with my hands right now. It feels very soothing. (Well, it will tomorrow when I get started, but I have already begun in my mind...).

  2. Sheila, It sounds like you're having a great time with your online class! I can't wait to see what you have made! YES the art alter is beautiful! I have a vintage prayer card that I have been wanting to do something with. I'll have to put that project on my list.
