OPERATION COTTAGE!

Hi!  Did you get excited for a minute thinking that we had sold our home?  Nope, go ahead and start breathing again.  No houses are selling in this darling little town of late (or much of anywhere really), so I don't have a miracle to announce (yet, that is)!  Oh how I have loved this home!

It is ready to go to another special family whose needs it will serve as well as it did ours for the 7 years Mom was with us.  Oh, speaking of selling the house... we are offering a $1,000 Visa gift card to anyone that refers someone who ends up buying it!  (Not kidding)!  If it doesn't sell soon, we'll be renting it.  Because we just bought a new (older) cottage!

So, onward!  We are downsizing (way down)!  Whew, what a project it is to get rid of a big houseful of stuff you won't have room for anymore.  (Project still ongoing)! :)  We found a cute -little- cottage which I will be telling you all about as time goes on!  Who ever said I don't like a little decorating challenge? (little)?  Anyway, here it is.  I have most of it planned (I think), but am totally open to ideas. Just shout out with your input!  It is a totally blank little teeny canvas.  Oh, by the way, we take possession NEXT FRIDAY!  Good grief!

Ready for a quick tour?

Living room looking into dining room
(yes that air conditioner in the wall will be among the first things to go)!
For now, I'm not changing the colors, it is freshly painted, and the color isn't bad.

 My Workshop/Studio
(it is really big, 2 sliding glass doors, heated, and that white door is a huge storage closet).  Yes, that is astro turf, not green carpet! (Shouldn't be too hard to remove).
More pics as time goes on!

It will be nice to be able to clean and then move bit by bit so that we can see what fits and more of what we need to get rid of.

Love,

  2. Oh, I'm so excited for you! I was in your fair city yesterday with my dear, little mother and my cousin. I kept wondering where you were from where I was. And wishing I could see you! Can't wait to hear more. Soon, I hope.

Downsizing is wonderful...not the doing, afterwords! I cant wait to see what you do with the Cricket. I think the Big Shot does the same.

  9. Good luck with your house selling (we are in month 11 of that process), and your downsizing (we thinned two-thirds of our possession over the last year). We have a big thing in common! It is really worth all the effort to be in a new home that fits us well.

  10. Good luck, Sheila! We are on the market and looking to downsize as well. Not much going on here either. Before it gets too hot here soon, I need to get in the attic and start to thin things out a bit. I'm sure I'll be happy later when we do eventually sell that I got that out of the way! Your new place looks like it has a lot of potential.
