It's once again upon us! Oktoberfest that is! It starts on Thursday September 11th this year, and outside the music is already playing on the speakers, the flags are flying the tents are up and the Glockenspiel is... well "glockenspieling"! It is soooo festive here. This is one of our favorite times of year! Family will be flying and driving in to stay. Of course our Grandson Brock (our personal little O'fest mascot) will be here and reveling in the joy and excitement and fun of it all with me and the rest of the fam and we'll run into lots of friends I'm sure! Uh... dh will be working 15-20 hour shifts but he STILL loves it!
My Mom enjoys O'fest by "phoning it in..." that is, she can't get around much, or walk without walker (and even then it's tough)... so she has developed her favorite foods (over 104 food booths)and when she gets hungry, she picks up the phone (or yells upstairs) to tell us what she wants and we go get it for her. We all enjoy it in our own way! My brother Michael and his wife Jeanne from Olympia and their families usually stop by, so we're hoping for that visit to happen again too!
Oh yes, the new computer has been ordered (2nd day air)so I'll be "up and running" again by the end of next week. I didn't choose the pink computer (you all know I WANTED to, but I was thoughtful of DH's feelings) but chose the "spring green" one. You know that will match my house!
